The most popular snack food for The Big Game, according to shoppers

The Big Game is nearly upon us. For many, the excuse to throw a party and nosh on wings, pizza, nachos and a slew of other foods is the best part of the National Football League’s annual championship game.

So, what is the most popular snack food at this year’s The Big Game celebration? We set out to find the answer in the latest issue of the Consumer Digest. In a shopper survey, 72% told us that they’ll be purchasing chips and dips, making this the most popular Big Game snack food for the second year in a row.

We also looked at what compels shoppers to visit a store versus an ecommerce site for their groceries and household items. Is it convenience? Selection? Something else?

Sales/promotions, selection and saving money were among the top reasons respondents claimed to shop in-store. Convenience was by far the biggest reason consumers shopped online for their groceries and household items.
