Inflation concerns and coupons are top of mind in early 2023

It’s a new year with new opportunities for brands to win by keeping their finger on the pulse of consumer expectations and needs. Here’s what consumers have told us is top of mind for them in our latest Consumer Digest.

While economists estimate inflation will slow down in the coming months, inflation worries persist with 69% of consumers reporting a concern of high prices in December, with 74% of households making $50k or less a year extremely concerned.

Grocery costs are expected to continue rising in 2023. "Food prices are expected to grow more slowly in 2023 than in 2022, but still at above historical average rates," according to a USDA press release.

As grocery store prices increase, 71% of survey respondents say they are looking for sales and coupons.
