84.51° Relocates to Chicago’s Old Post Office

84.51° expands its Chicago data science and engineering hub as employees officially report to the new office

CHICAGO, IL – November 25, 2019 – 84.51° will host an official ribbon-cutting event to ceremoniously open its new Chicago office in the redeveloped Old Post Office building located at 433 W. Van Buren Street. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m., and is by invitation only. 84.51° clients, partners, local dignitaries, and members of the media are invited to celebrate and get a behind-the-scenes look at the space. 84.51 provides data science and customer experience insights for locally-based Mariano’s, both of which are a part of The Kroger Company.

The Old Post Office is an Art Deco structure that is transforming to house multiple tenants. Within a short walk from the Chicago River, 84.51° will occupy 56,000 square feet in the historic space, with a floor plan accommodating up to 300 associates. 84.51°’s long-term plan is to increase its footprint in downtown Chicago from a current team of nearly 125 associates to more than 250 within five years.

84.51° will tap into Chicago’s technical market by co-locating its Data Science and Engineering teams between the Old Post Office and its headquarters in Cincinnati and its regional locations in New York and Portland. The company also plans to fill roles in Product Management to create effective delivery teams, as well as Science, Media and Consultant employees.

“We are looking forward to inviting our friends and colleagues to experience our new office space,” said Stuart Aitken, CEO of 84.51°. “We are proud to be a part of the revitalization of the Old Post Office. Our goal is to build into the tech centrifuge that is already growing in Chicago. We are committed to a customer-first strategy in all we do, and we’re equally committed to bringing top tech talent to this energetic city.”
