Describe your role.

I build partnerships with 84.51°'s core schools, ensuring our campus volunteer teams are equipped with the necessary resources and support. I collaborate with external organizations to drive awareness of our roles and opportunities among students. Additionally, I play a crucial role in supporting our interns and co-ops as they navigate their path to full-time employment through our Development Program

How long have you worked in recruiting and what inspired you to pursue this field?

I have worked in recruiting for three years. This comes after a 10-year stint working in business development. Every moment has been fulfilling. A friend recommended that I explore HR as a transition from my previous role in client services where I discovered a passion for connecting talented individuals with rewarding opportunities. 

What interested you in joining 84.51°? 

The opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the world was incredibly appealing. The 84.51° culture of embracing limitless possibilities and fearlessness still resonates with me deeply. 

What has been the most memorable experience or favorite project you’ve worked on?

One of the most memorable 84.51° experiences was undoubtedly the 2022 “Official” Area 51 tailgate. It was unlike anything I had experienced before, and being a part of it was truly unforgettable. Jokes aside, the tailgate provided a unique opportunity for us to connect with our teams in a fun and relaxed setting that made it one of my most cherished memories at 84.51°. 

What’s your favorite part about working at 84.51°? Do you have a favorite benefit or perk that is offered?

I appreciate the pristine office environment and Area 51 – the company’s annual all-company event – is a highlight for me. The energy and camaraderie during the week of Area 51 make it truly special. 

What advice would you give to those who are considering working in this field?

My advice would be to develop your own sense of purpose, vision and values to guide you through the challenges and successes that come with talent acquisition. It's essential to identify the customers you are advocating for and align your efforts with their needs. 

What do you like to do in your free time outside of work hours?

Outside of work, I enjoy stargazing, traveling to new destinations, and attending concerts to unwind and recharge.
